POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Administration and Finance Director, the Finance and Administration Manager will oversee all finance, administrative and operational activities of the Company. This includes, supervising daily support operations and planning the most efficient administrative procedures, developing and overseeing finance and accounting systems that comply with GAAP and OHADA practices. In coordination with the management, s/he will develop annual budgets that are aligned with the Company objectives. S/he will also ensure compliance with contractual and GAAP/OHADA requirements for reporting, finance, and administration. S/he will also ensure payroll processes and adherence to government human resources policies.
Reporting: Director of Administration and Finance (DAF).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance Functions:
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- manage the preparation of monthly reporting to Globus senior management including the monitoring of all other reports sent to the company and local reporting for tax authorities (DSF).
- Ensure effective inventory management and resource allocations.
- Maintains financial and accounting systems and procedures in accordance with company corporate requirements and GAAP/OHADA regulations.
- Manage the budgeting process and financial forecasting.
- Provide cross functional business support and decision making where needed to ensure correct actions are taken in accordance with the best interest of the company.
- Maintains regular communications with the senior management team providing relevant and timely financial information for planning and decision-making purposes.
- Manage and nurture stakeholder relationships both Internal and external (Vendor and bank relationships as well as Internal and External Audit relationships).
- Oversees annual company audit and prepares management response on any queries.
- In consultation with the management prepares the annual workplan budgets and monitors the same through the year and ensuring any variances are within acceptable ranges and explanations filed.
- Direct and ensure effective cash flow management with Globus Guidelines, suggest corrective actions in case of process deviations and escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Approve and sanction the bank related vouchers, reconciliation statements etc., as applicable.
- Direct and review month-end closure and reporting to ensure that they are all aligned to the company system.
- Direct and review financial statements created in line with the statutory reporting requirements.
Administrative Functions:
- Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes.
- Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the company to facilitate other business operations.
- Monitor inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new material with attention to budgetary constraints.
- Ensure operations adhere to policies and regulations.
- Keep abreast with all company changes and business developments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- A Degree in Finance and Accounting, Management or related field
- Relevant post graduate qualification is an advantage
- Chartered or Certified Accountant preferred.
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years’ total experience in a similar position with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding in emerging markets is preferred.
- Be fluent in French and English
