Globus Education Systems, an educational consultancy firm, has implemented a unique program called “Globus Nuggets Sessions” to promote teamwork and knowledge exchange among its staff. Every two weeks, employees take turns sharing their expertise on a chosen topic, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
The program kicked off on Friday, July 12th, with a session led by Marketing and Communication Assistant Ransom Bigi. Focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Bigi delved into different types of prompts and explored the capabilities of prominent AI tools like Gemini, ChatGPT, and You.com through interactive exercises. This engaging session provided valuable insights into the potential of AI for the company’s communication and marketing efforts.
Following Bigi’s session, Human Resource Manager Smith Mbua took the stage to upskill the team on Emotional Intelligence (EI). Mbua’s one-hour conversational session covered:
- Understanding EI: He provided a clear definition of Emotional Intelligence, explaining its importance in both work and personal life.
- The Building Blocks: Mbua delved deeper by explaining the four key skills that make up Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship management.
- Identifying Triggers: He explored the concept of emotional red flags and triggers, helping employees recognize situations that might negatively affect their emotions.
- Performance Impact: Mbua emphasized the connection between Emotional Intelligence and performance. He discussed how effectively managing emotions can benefit both individual and organizational success.
The session took place in the marketing and communication office, with remote employees participating via Google Meet. The interactive format created a space for discussion and learning. The positive feedback received at the end of the session demonstrates the value of “Globus Nuggets Sessions.” Staff expressed their appreciation for the enriching experience and eagerly await the next knowledge-sharing event in August.
